Cupping therapy is an old traditional method of placing cups made of glass, bamboo, or other materials on specific areas of the body to treat different conditions. The cups create a suction effect that is used to treat inflammation, increase blood circulation, help with pain, and as a form of massage therapy.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Hijama cupping therapy is an ancient prophetic healing process known to benefit the body in many ways including treating headaches and migraines, improving blood flow inflammation, diseases and many more. Treatment usually involves the process of gently piercing the skin with a blade and using a suction cup to remove the disposable blood from the body. The delicate process can remove the dirty blood and help the blood flow of the body via points across the head, back, arms and legs.

WHAT IS WET AND DRY CUPPING?

Dry cupping is the process of applying vacuumed cups onto the body to massage and rejuvenate the body without penetrating the skin. In contrast to this, wet cupping uses a razor blade to gently open the skin to allow the disposable blood to be vacuumed out of the body into the cup which will then be disposed of appropriately.

In both cases, cupping will leave bruise like marks on the body temporarily for around 10 days and completely disappear. Ointment may be applied to prevent infection and patients may need to return to the clinic for repeat sessions depending on their overall health, although regular checkups are advised.

Many studies show that cupping is a holistic remedy to many diseases and pains with no negative side effects.
